What does FOREVER mean to an NFT team?
Forging the future with the STAXX NFT team.
Here we are, the artist Stackles and her team, crafting and building an expansive world. We are sharing art with a new assurance of its permanence; NFTs attached to the blockchain, digitally archived in perpetuity.
When conceptualising the STAXX, the team explored the idea of a fleet waiting to awaken in a new world. Not unlike the mummies preserved for the afterlife of the Pharaohs, or the Terracotta Army escorting Qin Shi Huang, the STAXX are a “Fleet for Immortality”. Stackles refers to the STAXX as “future relics”: artefacts to be discovered in years to come by crypto archaeologists. A snapshot of a particular time.
Drawing inspiration from the possibilities of generative art, the STAXX fleet are built from a limited set of digital parts. These parts are repurposed and reimagined forming distinct Squads. In an effort to establish the ultimate collective, the STAXX share traits throughout their ranks. The concept of the STAXX is that they are built to last, an assemblage of recycled and repurposed parts, extending their life indefinitely.
Original hand-drawings, photographs and digital effects, layer to form the textures from which each STAXX element is cut. Pulling these analogue and digital elements together and allowing them to interact and merge, brings pure joy to the entire STAXX team. There is a hard-earned aesthetic language created by Stackles, forged from years of design, digital experimentation and a keen sense of process. Over the course of many months, she has crafted and refined the fleet, now a vast collection of both undeniable beauty and grit.
As we enter the STAXX GALAXXY with our collectors, we set up a deliberately open narrative. We seek to disrupt the idea of a singular story for the STAXX as we respond to the possibilities of the NFT space — a space that promises “forever”. As the STAXX INVADERS world expands, the team will invite other creatives to interpret their journey, and expand on the established creativity of Stackles. While the NFT space is only just emerging, the STAXX team is building for the long game.
